So where's the evidence Jesus was the one prophesied in Genesis 3.15?

This was part of an answer to a previous question:

"There is evidence that Jesus was who was prophesied in the Bible since Genesis 3:15 but there are people who will not accept that either...."

What evidence?

Discredited scribbles in a book of fables?

Give me some credible FACTUAL evidence, and you've got me!

Bible references really don't cut it.

Would you except quotes from Lord of the Rings as evidence?

So where is it guys?

John W.........passively admit the bible to be true? Have you been drinking or something?

Can't you's a book of fables dude........and poorly written ones at that.

I'm an atheist, raised catholic. I realised by the time I was 10 that the bible was garbage.

Update 2:

John's the link from my previous question about the links between man and ape

Jesus Christ: The only-begotten Son of God, the only Son produced by Jehovah alone. This Son is the firstborn of all creation. By means of him all other things in heaven and on earth were created. He is the second-greatest personage in the universe. It is this Son whom Jehovah sent to the earth to give his life as a ransom for mankind, thus opening the way to eternal life for those of Adam’s offspring who would exercise faith. This same Son, restored to heavenly glory, now rules as King, with authority to destroy all the wicked and to carry out his Father’s original purpose for the earth. The Hebrew form of the name Jesus means “Jehovah Is Salvation”; Christ is the equivalent of the Hebrew Ma·shi′ach (Messiah), meaning “Anointed One.”

    The Ultimate Conquest of Evil

By themselves, humans will never be able to conquer the ultimate sponsor of evil, Satan the Devil. Soon, though, Jehovah will use Jesus to crush Satan’s head. (Genesis 3:15; Romans 16:20) Jehovah will also direct Christ Jesus to “crush and put an end” to all political systems, many of which have perpetrated so much evil throughout history. (Daniel 2:44; Ecclesiastes 8:9) During this coming day of judgment, all those who “do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus . . . will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction.”—2 Thessalonians 1:8, 9; Zephaniah 1:14-18.

Once Satan and those who support him are removed, from heaven Jesus will help the survivors to restore the earth to its original condition. Christ will also resurrect all those worthy of the opportunity to live on the restored earth. (Luke 23:32, 39-43; John 5:26-29) In so doing, he will nullify some of the effects of the evil suffered by humanity.

Jehovah will not force people to obey the good news about Jesus. However, he is giving people the opportunity to take in the knowledge that leads to life. It is vital that you take advantage of this opportunity now! (Zephaniah 2:2, 3) If you do so, you will learn how to cope with any evil that now blights your life. You will also see how Christ will lead the ultimate conquest of evil.—Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-3, 10; 21:3, 4.

There is no such meaning to Genesis 3.15 in Judaism.

This is one more of those hundreds and hundreds of "prophecies" that have been back-engineered into the Jewish text in order to further the Christian human blood sacrifice for sin agenda named Jesus.

There are actually only around 16 original prophecies the Jews still hold in the Torah concerning the actual, real Jewish Messiah. Genesis 3.15 isn't one of them.

These "interpretations" are meaningless to Judaism, and simply do not exist except in the imagination of the Christians.

You are posing a question from a book you passively admit is true.. then saying we can't answer with the same book.

Perhaps you instead could provide a link... between monkey and man.. a transitional form...

Or howabout even what or who caused the Big Bang?

Or who is it that put into effect the amazing reality of natural selection? Did Darwin invent it, or discover it?

I tell you this. Natural Selection exists in the Bible (spotted sheep, non spotted, etc.. ) In the OLD testament!!!

    Its not new news.

"There is nothing new under the sun."

All that was written about Jesus was 30 or 40 year after his death (however it might have been) by people that never met him, only Peter met him and his Gospels weren't selected to get in the Bible.

PS: I don't accept the Bible as being written by God, now prove to me that it was, or just prove something

It's nowhere to be found in Genesis or anywhere else for that matter. Jesus' goal was not to be a prophet or a god or achieve rock star status. He was a priest trained in the Temple of Osiris and Mary Magdalene was a priestess in the Temple of Astarte, she was the keeper of the sacrificial doves there. The two of them set out to teach (not preach) others to develop higher levels of consciousness, and taught healing (Reiki) and other forms of magick, but they got misunderstood and he was the first witch to be executed while she got called a whore for the rest of time. In fact, Jesus was not even a christian. He was born a Pagan into a Pagan world and in my eyes, he has always been and always will be Pagan no matter how much propaganda anyone can quote to me. I do not consider the bible to be a valid source of anything exept kindling for a fire.

Isn't there some 60 or so prophesied criteria that were supposed to identify Jesus when he came?

I've seen lists online (google messianic prophecies) that show where Jesus met those criteria although Jews don't believe that he did, in fact, meet them all and are still waiting for the messiah.

Creationist: But the Bible was written by God, not some dude who thought up of hobbits.

Normal guy: How do you know?

Creationist: it says so in the Bible.

Cheers, this is an infinite circle of faulty logic that fundies love to spew =)

The best evidence has always been the eye witness testimony of the Church ... and the personal witness of the apostles and martyrs who died for what they knew to be the truth.

    Nobody dies for a lie.

The scripture you reference means satan will have power to bruise his heel (death of Christ and men in general) but he (Christ) will have power to crush his head (power over death, resurrection, power over sin).

    Rom. 16: 20.

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Similarities of Christ and Quetzalcoatl include the following:

    3. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl are described as being white or as wearing a white robe.

    4. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl performed miracles.

    5. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl taught the ordinance of baptism.

    6. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl prophesied of future events.

    7. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl were universal as opposed to just being recognized as local gods.

    8. A great destruction was associated with both Christ and Quetzalcoatl at exactly the same time period in history.

    9. The cross was a symbol to both Christ and Quetzalcoatl.

    10. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl sent out disciples to preach their word.

    11. Both Christ and Quetzalcoatl promised they would come a second time.

    12. A new star is associated with both Christ and Quetzalcoatl.

    13. The children of both Christ and Quetzalcoatl will become lords and heirs of the earth.

    Isaiah 14:29

...and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent...

    Numbers 21:8

8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
