Prove: a cannot equal to 0 and a times b=0 then b=0?

    a * b = 0

    As a is not 0, you can divide the equation by a:

    b = 0 / a = 0.

    If a !=0 (!= is not equal), and a*b=0, then b must be 0. Any number times 0 is 0. There is no other number that you can multiply by a that will give you a 0 result.

    If a is not zero then a multiplied by any number except zero will equal a number (ab)

    If ab = 0 then b must be zero !

    Simply put :

    ab = 0

    b = 0/a

    b = 0
