What is Beta?

Recently I've been seing BETA on websites, prounounced Bay•Tah What is it??

    A beta is a program that is being tested. By releasing it to the public, people can report bugs and errors that they get for the program, so that when they release the final version, it will be more stable.

    Yeah, like everyone else said, Beta basically means software that isn't complete or isn't completely tested. However, it's becoming more of a marketing term on the web to indicate that something is new.

    is an unfinshed version of software. Befor esoftware is released for sale they release a BETA version for people to try for free that way they can find out if there are any bugs or problems with the software that need fixing before they release for sale

    beta generally refers to an active test of a program. it's when people are allowed to actively use the program in order to shake the bugs out and find out how well it works and what parts still need tweaking.

    Beta is a VCR that died years ago....lol j/k. Beta is software that is in test phase.
