1.square root of -1 is i

therefore, 3 square root of -1 is 3i

2. square root of 9 times 6 makes up square root of 54

since 9 can be square rooted to 3..

the answer is 3 times 3 square root of 6

which equals 9 square root 6

3. square root of 16 times 3 makes up square root 48

since 16 can be square rooted to 4..

the answer so far is 4 times 3 square root of 3x^5

which equals 12 square root of 3x^5

for x^5, this equals (x)(x)(x)(x)(x)

this can also equal x^4 times x

x^4 can be square rooted to equal x^2

if you put it all together, it will equal..

12x^2 square root 3x

4. square root of x^10 is x^5 since x^5(x^5)= x^10

so now we have 5x^5 square root y^5

y^5 = (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

or y^4(y)

y^4 can be square rooted to equal y^2

the final answer is then..

5x^5y^2 square root y

1. It's impossible to take the square root of -1. You would get an imaginary number, and I'm not sure how to do that.

2. It simplifies to 9 square root of 6, or about 22.05

I'd answer 3 and 4, but I don't remember how to do it.
