What are some things to look for when buying a bowling ball?

Update:

I know what weight I need. just don't know what type of ball. Brand wise does it really make a difference?

A store where bowling balls are sold would be the very first thing.

Weight you're comfortable with, the grip your'e comfortable with, the design and color, and of course your budget
