Accessing router menu problems?

When I enter my IP address in internet explorer it does not take me to the router menu with the sign in thing (and yes I have the correct IP address). It just says the website doesn't exist. And possibly how to add/allow another MAC address to access the wireless connection (I think it's filtered). I'd rather not press the stupid reset button because then I might be without internet on the computers that are already connected or I would probably just mess something up.
Update: I do go on the computer that is directly connected to the router (I have netgear by the way)... I have done the http:// thing with the IP addresses: 192.168.1.1 192.168.0.1 192.168.2.1 192.168.1.11 192.168.1.13 I have tried pretty much any combination that makes sense. I have tried pretty much any combination that makes sense. I have also looked up the IP address and it says it is 192.168.1.1 Nothing seems to work and it is driving me crazy-- we had some guy with either netgear or zoomtown (our ISP) come and set it all up about 4 or 5 years ago and yeah. Maybe I'll just call them.

Thanks for trying though-- and I can't reset the router or my dad will probably get mad- I might do it anyway though.
