It's from the Holy Bible. Jesus said it. It is also the more positively phrased version of th Golden Rule which is "Do not do unto others what you would not want them do unto you."

"Matthew 7:12 KJV: Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. " Every faith (tries) to teach this in one form or another. I put the word "tries" in there because, well, look at the world today....

It means treat others as you want to be treated by others !
Its a very old Quotation almost mentioned in every old scriptures like islams , bible , hindu , .......!
The quote quoted in scriptures of every religion may sound differnt but its end meaning result the same "treat others as you want to be treated by others " !

"do unto others as you want others to do unto you"
it is one of the most famous and most frequently used quote from the bible and it simply means that you should always treat others well if you want yrself to be treated well too.in other words it simply teaches that we should always treat everyone with respect,compassion and affection;if we do we get the same treatment too.

That quote in one form or another, appears in the Bible, and in other religious books, as well, for other faiths. The same premise is the common denominator in many faiths.
It is the center of the belief of love.

that's one of the parable of Jesus called,"the golden rules" as it say " Dont do unto others what you dont like do unto you"
