Where did slovin's formula originated? who developed it?

    I'm sorry, I couldn't find any information on the net about the origins of Slovin's Formula or who developed it. Judging by the lack of answers, it looks like not many people of YA know either. Really sorry I couldn't help. Xxx :)

    Slovin’s formula is an approximation of Cochran’s formulas as described in this article : http://www.osra.org/itlpj/bartlettkotrlikhiggins.p...

    It approximates the sample size formula for categorical values with the included correction formulae for sample above 5% population size. It takes a “tail value” of 2 instead of 1.96 to simplify again (meaning an alpha error level of sightly above 5%). You can probably work it out yourselves from the article and the hints above.
