A useless number.
Use watts RMS.

this means max power handling. no evryone on here seems to think subwoofers have power in them. NO!if this were true we wouldn't have to buy amps just use an rca cable. Well anyways it may say peak power handling or rms power handling and this is what power your amp can put out without driving the sub too hard either in rms or peak. look for the higher rms power handling becuase peak watts mean nothing rms do.

the max power is the peak power it can handle,
it isnt a very important number
instead look for the RMS power listed, thats the continous handling power of the speaker. its the one u can match up with the amp too

What is listed as "peak power" on the subwoofer? That might be a pretty good indication.
