I have recently done a essay on this in school so I will shorten it:
Creationism = God created the univese and life. A bit simpalistic.
Evolution = Earth is created, then land and water, lots of chemicals come together to form protein which of corse forms cells. some cells began to clump together and working as one unit, this made the first simple organism, this is backed up by 'Darwin's theory' This is the theory of mutations in the DNA causes change in animals structure giving it a furthur advantage over the rest of the species, therefore passing on it's genes more successfully until the whole species changes, also known as natural selection. (Look him up on the internet to find out more about his experiments to prove this). However, christians have came up with a fault of this theory, a cell which has a motor tail on the back, it contains five parts, if any of which where taken then the motor would not work. This is known as irreducable mechanism. It would take 5 mutations to get this mechanism working and this is impossible so there would be no advantage and the mutation would not be taken on by the population.
There is evidence to support both theories. I think, myself, the evidence for creationalism can be over come, if a mutation causes no advatage or disadvatage why can't it stay in the population until the next 4 mutations happen and it is an advantage.
Anyway hope this helps :)
