How do you convert an excel spreadsheet to a CSV file so it can be copied?
I've tried the obvious save as etc but it doesn't give it as an option. Answers in idiot language please

It should be there.
When you select save as, click on the bottom drop down list labelled "save as type" and select the CSV option.

Are you sure you don't want to double check?
I'm using Excel 2003 and it's the 11th option in the Save As / file type box. If you have an older version, you might want to look at the link below, but it's a bit technical:
