When is ithe time to a chiropractor?
I have had back problems for the past few months and am not quite sure why. I'm not sure if I just need a good fancy massage or a good cracking from the chiropractor. If you go to either what are your deciding facors? How do you decide which one to visit?

A good Deep tissue massage can provide relief from your back pain. Also the massage therapist would give you advice about what to do to prevent further problems. I suggest you try the massage first and see how it helps you. If you're not happy with the results, then visit a chiropractor and get a thorough examination to find out what is causing your back pain.Source(s): retired doctor of Naturopathic medicine

Get all of the massages that you would like, especially, deep tissue. My advice is to stay away from chiropractors until you have seen a real doctor for a diagnosis of your condition. I am a chronic pain patient and am in alot of support groups, chat rooms, etc, also speak with patients at my clinic and alot of them have stated that they where told that their situations now where from visiting chiropractors who misdiagnosed them and ultimately injured them permanetly.

Most chiropractor have massage therapists in their office, and incorporate both adjustments with massage therapy. So you can kill two birds with one stone. As far as finding which chiropractor to visit. Just check around with friends or co-workers, and make sure they take your medical insurance if you have it.

The chiropractor will check you out and look at xray then let you know if it is something that his adjustments can fix.
