Iraq's stance on Lebanon's Civil War?

Despite an end to the civil war of the 1970's and 80's, the situation in Lebanon remains unstable. Syria occupies most of the northern and eastern parts of the nation, while Israel-backed Christian militiamen dominate the southern portion of the country. THe government's attempts to maintain internal peace continue to be hampered by infighting among various religious and political factions. The political governing of Lebanon has most recently been dominated by Syra. Israel and some other nations in the area want to restrict Syria's power in Lebanon because they believe that Syria ultimately wants to annex Lebanon.
