United Airlines Flight 93 was a regular flight from Newark International Airport (now known as Newark Liberty International Airport) in Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco International Airport, then continuing on to Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, on a different aircraft.

It was coming from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey and was going to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in California. It was going to continue on to Japan after a short layover in San Francisco.

The flight crashed in a field 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In Somerset County in the town of Shanksville.
