If you are running XP, try using Remote Desktop. If not, try using GoToMyPc. Just google it...

try logmein.com, it works for me. Also, if you know how to setup up VNP, you could do that. Or use some other remote access/administrator software to access the server computer. LogMeIn has many different kinds of service, but there is also a Free version of LogMeIn and it works GREAT.

Install a remote control utility that allows control to be taken WITHOUT their software being installed elsewhere, ie via a web interface.

If doing this remember to set a STRONG password to protect it.
