    The 1800's were a century of many rapid changes for Colombia, this 100 year period encompasses the independence movement of the early decades and the turmoil of civil war of the mid 1800's. Several proclamations of constitutions and a like number of republics were formed and reformed by the turn of the century to form the republic that we now know as Colombia.
