A coupe is a car body style with a close-coupled interior offering either two seats or 2+2 seating (space for two passengers up front and for two occasional passengers in the rear).

A roadster is the North American term (spyder in England and a barchetta in Italy) for a 2-seater without a permanent top and without rollup windows (if it has rollup windows it is a cabriolet, not a roadster), and the windshield is bolt on rather than integrated as in modern cars.

Both will have two doors. The coupe will have a hard top and the roadster will have a soft/ cloth top or none at all.

A coupe is a two door (sedan has four), and a roadster is a two door two seater. Thanks,..........Rob in PA.
