Inconsistently. In some cases, especially early in the period, the US supported the end of colonialism (for instance in Algeria, Egypt, and sub-Saharan Africa). However, when communism seemed to be involved, the US could violently oppose nationalism--the most famous example is Vietnam, but there were also interventions in Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Iran, and other places.
