Why is it OK for Al Sharpton to be such a biggot?

"As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so don't worry about that; that's a temporary situation," Sharpton said Monday during a debate with Hitchens at the New York Public Library's Beaux-Arts headquarters.

Update:

I never said that mormons weren't loony. But Al being as how he finds "nappy headed ho's" so offensive should maybe be a little more careful in his own charged comments.

As for my mispelling of bigot, thank you miss dictionary you must be a charm to have around for all your um... friends

It's not OK, he needs to be censured.

So that when Reverend Sharpton, the self-proclaimed mouthpiece of the black community, gets on his moralistic, self-righteous podium at every opportunity to decry the "bigots" who may violate a zero-tolorance threshold for African-American racial insensitivity, he highlights society's tiresome double standard as well as his own tiresome hypocracy and his tiresome mission of pompous self-aggrandizing. His unapologetic blustering is giving us some productive food for thought, and might end up helping us evolve.

Racism and bigotry are excusable; even cool and edgy, if you are a Liberal but hey are a reason for termination if you are a Conservative.

Jesse Jackson can call New York HymieTown, Sharpton can spew racial slurs constantly and Byrd can be an unapologetic former Klan leader who uses the "n" word on national TV and the liberals and their media lap dogs will either embrace them or ignore them.

If a Conservative praises a senator at his birthday party or if a bureaucrat uses a word that someone mistakes for racist then they must be fired.

It is not about bigotry but about political power.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a double standard when it comes to bigotry. If someone is a member of a minority group and is a bigot, hardly anyone bats an eyelash. If someone is white and a bigot, though, all hell breaks loose. It's ridiculous!

The old double standard. Al can call anyone out for racist remarks but, he does not expect to be held to the same standards.

What a fat, bloated hypocrite. Obama needs to kick him out of his camp before having that grease ball kills any chance Obama may have of winning the democratic nomination.

I am amazed that people actually take Al Sharpton seriously. He is a nut. He doesn't practice what he preaches and is, therefore, a hypocrite.

Because we, the American people, stand by and tolerate it while the press encourages him in any way possible. If others, who are not black, were to make some of the same statements, they would be immediately ostracized.
