Why are my doves' feathers falling out?

My two ringneck doves are shedding fathers. They are both almost 6 months old.

When they were about a month old they shed a ton and then it stopped and they had nice smooth feathers. Now they are molting like crazy, even on the face.

Is this normal? Or should I take them to the vet? Both are still eating and drinking and one is courting the other.

This is completely normal. They are moulting out their thin baby feathers and gaining their sub-adult feathers. Their baby feathers are thin and are easily damaged if they kept them they would be to susceptible to the elements, the sub-adult feathers will be sturdier and will add waterproofing.
