CAUSE: Sounds more like a transmission/mechanical problem than a computer problem to me. Even though there's issue with some Honda automatic transmissions (involving Accord and Acura TL) in that period, still 130,000 km is kind of premature failure. You can check the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). Grab a lint-free cloth, start the car's engine and let it run, pull out the dipstick for the ATF, check and see the color of the fluid. Normally the fluid should be in red or dark pink color. If it appears brown and darker, it's a sign of aging fluid and overheating, so the fluid has lost its viscosity to transfer the torque and drive the shaft to move the car. You may even want to look closer and see if there's any tiny metal particle in it as it's a sign of a worn gear box.

If you think it's the computer, I suggest you take off the positive pole of the car battery and let it sit there for 30 min just to make sure the "memory" is removed. Reconnect the battery, and see if the symptom still exists. As I mentioned earlier, it sounds more like a mechanical issue.

SOLUTION: Hopefully it's just the old ATF that's causing the problem. Do a ATF flush and put new ATF into the car. The repair garage has to flush the ATF out anyway to further investigate if there's any worn parts inside the transmission. Worst case the transmission has to be repaired or replaced. I don't think there's "brand new" transmission for that year anymore. You probably will have to settle for a rebuilt used Honda transmission. In the US it cost about US$1500~$3,000 for the repair. Should be cheaper in HK.

Try to get it fix ASAP, because if you ignore it more mechanical parts may be worn, and even damage the drive shaft and CV boot.

    Good luck.
