He'pears to know just how long he can torment me before I get my dander up,

Update:

Update 2:

Update 3:

或者說"warn't=was not, ain't = am not"這一類又有什麼根據啊?

    嗯嗯,應該是打錯..."He'pears"完全沒意義。以句子來看,的確應該是He appears。還有,"appears to know" = 似乎知道,經常會看到。

    Apostrophe [ ' ] 撇號 只有兩種用法。

    一種是 possessive(所有格;擁有的),用來表示某某東西是屬於某某人/物的。

    例:John's book = 約翰的書

    例:The cat's possessions = 貓的雜物

    例:The cheerleaders' song = 啦啦隊的歌聲

    另一種是 omissive(省略),用來縮短單字或句子;大多是口語話的用法。

    例:gov't = government = 政府

    例:'cause = because = 因為

    例:ma'am = madam(吧?) = 女士 (美國人才會這樣說)

    例:shouldn't = should not = 不應該

    Ain't 就比較特別了,因為是slang,口語話的字。

例:that book ain't mine = that book isn't mine = that book is not mine = 那本書不是我的

    例:I ain't no slacker = I am not a slacker = 我不是懶惰鬼

例:God ain't given me anything = God hasn't given me anything = God has not given me anything
