Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene Lyrics / Singer?

Can someone please tell me for certain which FOB member sings the " you look pretty sinking" and "prema-donnas of the gutter" in This Ain't A Scene... I know Pete Wentz does most backing vocals etc... but I am not sure on this one!

Thanks!

You are correct, it's Pete Wentz. "The song is reportedly about lyricist/bassist Pete Wentz's frustration with the ever growing 'emo scene'. As he told Rolling Stone, "There may be other songs on the record that would be bigger radio hits, but this one had the right message." Wentz got the idea for the arms-dealer metaphor from the Lord of War movie.[2] The song consists of a disco/rock sound during the verse and bridge, which is then followed up with a more pop-punk style chorus."

Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race Lyrics

    I am an arms dealer.

Fitting you with weapons in the form of words

And don't really care, which side wins

As long as the room keeps singing

That's just the business I'm in

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

I'm not a shoulder to cry on, but I digress

    I'm a leading man

And the lies I weave are oh so intricate, oh so intricate

    I'm a leading man

And the lies I weave are oh so intricate, oh so intricate

I wrote the gospel of giving up

    (You look pretty sinking)

But the real bombshells have already sunk

    (Pre-Madonnas of the gutter)

At night we're painting your trash gold while you sleep

Crashing not like hips or cars

    No, more like p-p-p-parties

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

    Bandwagon's full. Please, catch another

    I'm a leading man

And the lies I weave are oh so intricate, oh so intricate

    I'm a leading man

And the lies I weave are oh so intricate, oh so intricate

All the boys who the dance floor didn't love

And all the girls whose hips couldn't move fast enough

Sing until your lungs give out

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

    (Now you)

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

    (Wear out the groove)

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

    (Sing out loud)

This ain't a scene, it’s a god damn arms race

    (Oh, oh)

This ain't a scene, it's a god damn arms race

    I'm a leading man

And the lies I weave are oh so intricate, oh so intricate

I am sorry I couldnt' find out who 100% sung it but my guess is Pete Wentz. If you listen to From Under The Cork Tree and then Infinity ON HIgh his backup vocals change a lot. Here is a link just to some information about the song and video.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Ain't_a_Scene,_I...

P.S. I am guessing that you are a Fall Out Boy fan. I have a website that I would like you (or anyone else who loves FOB) to join. It is everythingfalloutboy.bravehost... com (note I had to put 3 periods after bravehost for Yahoo! to allow me to put the link. but in the real web address there is only one period before the com.)

Actually, Patrick sings these two particular lines. Anyone who knows their voices can easily recognize Pete over Patrick and this is definitely Patrick. Although you are right, Pete usually does sing backing vocals these lyrics are sung by Patrick. If you've ever seen them play the song live, or heard it played live, you'd know that Patrick sings it onstage and if you were to compare the CD vocals to the live performance you'd realize they are the same voice. Hope this helps!

Patrick sings most parts of the song. Pete does the background parts [ like what you said ].

    hope this helps.
