when you are doing probability and you get a problem where you have to multiply, do you cross multiply like in regular fractions or multiply straight across? and what happens when you have three fractions? for example:

73/100 * 82/100= 5986/10000

or

73/100 * 82/100= 7300/8200

and 73/100 * 82/100 * 1/2 = ?

any operation in maths is performed in the same way irrespective of where it is performed.

for your question, consider this example -

a/b * c/d * e/f * ....................y/z

=(a*c*e*.....................y ) ( b*d*f.............................. z)

so, your solution is 5896/10000 to the first one and 5896/20000 to the second.

p.s.looks like you asked this ques coz you are not getting the ans . maybe you've solved the sum the wrong way, or made some calculation mistake.check again.

I don't know anything about statistics or probabilities, but when you are just multiplying fractions you always multiply straight across.

it is 5986/10000 or 59.86% and the other one 5986/20000 or 29.93 %
