Have you heard of this phrase/quote before?
This is as far as I can remember. . .
"What are men compared to rocks and mountains?"
I heard it quite often while watching Pride & Prejudice last night. Please help!
Seriously. I know this quote comes from a poem, I just need to know what poem and who the author was/is!
I don't care for your opinion on what men really are. It is of no concern of mine.
I just want to know what poem this quote comes from, and who the author is.

Pride And Prejudice Script -
What are men compared to rocks and mountains? Men are either eaten up with arrogance or stupidity. If they are amiable, they have no minds of their own. ...
But had not heard before.

It means that human beings are nothing compared to rocks and mountains because human beings are on the earth for a short time then die (and decompose) while rocks and mountains last forever.
Hope this makes it clearer
