Do I need side view mirrors in Charlotte, NC on a jeep wrangler?

Call your local DMV and ask them if it is illegal to drive a Wrangler with the doors off and no side mirrors. States are different in what they allow. In SC, you can get away with not having mirrors when the doors are off, because of the size of the vehicle and its easy to see behind you without having the mirrors, well, at least in my town.Source(s): Owner of 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara.

A car must have at least the drivers side external mirror to be road legal. The law might have changed and includes the passenger side as well as it is no longer an option to have passenger mirror, but a stock item.
Inside rear view is able to be removed, as box trucks do not have access for one. but external drivers side I know is law for all states.
