It really depends if the owners of the cat decide to bury it in an old Indian cemetary.

If they do, the cat will probably come back and terrorize your boyfriend.

His luck will not be affected in any way. I had exactly the same thing happen to me a number of years ago and I cried all day, but nothing happened to my luck, such as it is. The superstition about black cats is only that, superstition.

I live in a rural area and know how fast an animal can run in front of you - there's nothing you can do. Tell him not to feel bad, just be more careful in the future.
