Does putting salt lines across ant paths stop ants?

I put salt all around the kitchen and across the doorstep and no more ants...is this coincidence

    Baking powder works well against ants.

    Yes, partly coincidental Besides that, you are gonna have to leave a trail of salt around the house. Salt breaks down rather quickly when exposed to the environment. Also, the salt may react with your flooring, causing discoloration. Also, you maybe attracting other undesirable critters.

    Baby powder would be a more desirable option.

    salt or beer only has effect on snails not ants try ant powder in this little round pots or baking powder should work to

    Try something a bit more acidic, like vinegar for example.

    No, it's true. Liquid dish detergent works too, and is less messy.
