I doubt the date has anything to do with it.

I wish Yahoo, or our email providers would block mail that is more than 23 hours in the future.

It would be a simple change on their part, and we'd get rid of all those "fake watch replicas" and VI@gra (always misspelled) crap that we get dated 2038 (Unix expiration date).
