A powerful bomb blasted rocked the Manila embassy in Jakarta today, killing two people and seriously injuring the Philippines ambassador.
Eyewitenesses said the explosion virtually destroyed the car Philippine Ambassador Leonides Caday was riding in. Caday's driver died in the blast, as did an innocent bystander Caday was taken to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition At least 20 oth-ers were injured.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack. An embassy spokesman said that no motive had been established yet for the attack. However, it raised fears that Mustim rebels in the southern Philippines have extended their terrorist anti-government attacks to overseas diplomatic missions.
