In human terms about 25 years give or take 10 years either way. Rule of thumb I have found generally is 4 generations per century, though some families achieve 5 if they all start child bearing in their teens.

There is no acual biological or scientific deffinition of this but poeple have until recently considered a generation to be 20 years

Now that women have become emancipated and often have children later in life, a generation will become more than 20 years.

On average in the Western world it will be somewhere between 25 and 30 years.
