REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS FOR EMPHASIS

We usually place the reflexive pronoun at the end of the sentence or just after the subject when we use it for emphasis. In this case, the reflexive pronoun is not the object of the sentence and we do not place it immediately after the verb.

examples: He sweeps himself.(他告诉我们这是错的例子)

Update:

1) Brian and Charles, prepare yourselves for a surprise!

2) I cried and made myself sick.

3) I must work hard and keep myself active.

He sweep the floor himself. or He seep XX himself. (XX=object)

He sweeps......

    He seep應該是He sweeps(對唔住,手快快打漏字)

He sweeps the floor himself也是有點怪怪,因為你用了簡單現在式,若你想說,他正自己在掃地,可說成:He is sweeping the floor himself。 He sweeps the floor himself everyday.

If you look closely to the 3 sentence

You can find the question corresponding to them

    1. Prepare yourselve for what?( a surprise)

    2. Make myself feeling what?(sick)

    3. Keep myself in what state? (active)

    But your sentence

    Sweep himself what? (Nothing???)

    So you can say

    He does sweeping himself.

    He sweeps the floor himself.
