I am for abortion because the government should not have the right to tell anyone what they can do with their body. In general, if the government has too much power, and it starts deciding whether we can do this or do that, eventually the government will think it can do that in everyday life. This will lead to the people losing more and more of their freedom. If abortion is illegal, then it would do more harm than help. Women would go anywhere, even to poor physicians to get it done and this would lead to serious health problems. I'd rather it be legal and women given the choice to make a rational decision, rather than the choice be taken away and they choose a dangerous way to have it done. Have you ever read "The Cider House Rules". I mean the movie was okay, but if you want to really read a good book about abortion and other things, then this is a good book. The physician in it is against abortion, but he chooses to do it because of an experience he had where he saw a woman go and have the procedure in a back alley. It was unsanitary and many of the women who had it done died because it was done properly. So he began to do the procedure because he felt it was wrong for him to deny these women a healthy or safer way of having the procedure done, even if he did feel it was wrong.

I am ProChoice for a simple reason. Being a human, I have no right to tell another whether or not to keep a baby. This is no different than depriving a person of any other rights. I don't have to agree with abortions, but at the same time I don't have the right to tell someone they can't do it. As long as the person is making an educated decision, it is their's to make.

It's not too much different than eggs. Chicken eggs would in fact be chickens had they been given the chance to incubate instead of going to the frying pan. I don't see too many people in an uproar about that. Life is life, regardless of the species. If you are anti-abortion, you should be anti anything related to destroying any life form.

I think every single case should have to go to a trial before jury type situation. This way emotions don't factor in as much.

Should a rape victim have to carry the child? No.

Should someone who made a bad decision concerning sex have the right to abort the child even though the father wants the baby? No.

    See? Every situation is different.

I am pro choice because I don't that's a decision that should or can be properly made by an outside observer or legislator. It should be up to the people involved to decide the best course of action. And since the woman has to carry the child, the ultimate decision should be hers.

I am pro-choice because no one has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body. In the past, women have died trying to end pregnancies. Even now, infants are being killed.

The people who are uncomfortable talking about menstruation and propagation are also the same ones who oppose abortion and sex education.

If you want to avoid mistakes, educate teens so they can make informed choices.

Pro-Choice - I don't believe a foetus is alive until it's brain develops... and it's the woman who carries it, goes through labour... I don't think abortion is anymore killing a potential child than contraception is, and most agree with contraception (though not catholics.)
