With religion in force from very early in our human beginnings, we are deeply entrenched in the subjective quagmire of misinformation as a way to control the masses, like a form of animal husbandry. It's kinda pitiful watching people on here trying to sort out the complex issues today while operating under perpetuated medieval belief systems. The issues today require a basic knowledge of math and science, issues such as global warming, evolution, stem cell research, bird flu, natural disasters, obesity and healthy diets, and energy sources. Yet, most people are so misguided with disinformation and religious propaganda that, well, like the saying goes, "God would not have made them sheep if He had not wanted them sheared." People have to be able to think lucidly, objectively, rationally for themselves in order to remain free.

Not less than 85% accept disinformation and propaganda for truth, because of the level of ignorance in this country. This has gotten so out of control. Disinformation has caused this country to become un-united. And I applaud the answer from the military wife, my husband was in the first gulf war and he said the same thing. Most of what they reported never happened or happened in a different way. Great question.

  • People are sheep, dude.

They hear what they want to hear.

I would honestly have to imagine that Americans are more pliable than most other societies. These bible-thumping zombies are so convinced of their own moral perfection that they are simply loath to admit that the crap they have been hand-fed all their lives is not a whole-world view.

Propaganda? Disinformation? Americans have no responsibility to conserve energy or resources - GW said so - buy a massive SUV and burn gas like it's going out of style. Go on... it's the American way.

Propaganda? Disinformation? We would never be involved in holy war - perish the thought - as our Christian army rolls into Muslim holy land...

Propaganda? Disinformation? Money makes the world go round. Wealth, decadence and gluttony are the keys to happiness. Need proof? Turn on the tube during Primetime. Beauty is king and worthy of your respect.

OK, back with an edit - You want propaganda and misinformation? - how about all of the supressed eyewitness reports of series of small charges being detonated throughout the structure of the World Trade Centers just before collapse? Official reports that defy the laws of physics and claim that jet fuel burning for about an hour weakened high-grade steel enough to bring down massively over-engineered buildings that were designed to withstand far worse......

Those towers dropped like controlled demolitions and became justification for war and huge defense contracts - and we all bought it!

there are many views of the world, the propagandists are often just a ignorant as the rhetoric, some uf us may not give a damn and sell our service to the highest bidder and have the ability to see different viewpoints or perhaps just no audience for our own view of the world and a habit of normalizing the poles. anyhow, men know not what they do nor say. the gears turn in our brain and we can only watch.

    a HUGE amout of BS.

put it this way... most of it is propaganda.

today, the media has way too much power.

how often do they actually show stuff like this on tv?

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4499562022...

There is a whole lot more missinformation out there being handed out by "EXPERTS"... damn, who coined that freegin clichee...

Anytime they want people to accept a statement without asking questions they say that the "EXPERTS" said so...

except what they don't tell us is that some of these annoying expert types have their own little agendas as well.

    You tell me?

We're at war with Iraqi insurgents because of

disinformation and fear mongering by the

    current administration.

Over 600000 Iraqis called, around 3000 Americans

    killed and no way out.
