    Caffeine 是 adenosine receptor antagonist (拮抗劑 ) 所以在中樞神經中妨礙 adenosine 的作用

    adenosine 的作用:

    (a) 抑制神經興奮性及神經原間傳導inhibits neuronal excitability and synapse transmission.

    (b) 抑制腦中負責興奮訊號傳輸之神經傳遞物 如 多巴胺及減少其合成inhibits the release of most brain excitatory neurotransmitters, particularly dopamine (DA), and may reduce DA synthesis.

    (c)同時增加血清素 (serotonin 與疲乏 及行為受壓抑有關) along with increases in 5-HT (serotonin, which is generally associated with behavioral suppression), have been linked to central fatigue during exercise.

    (d)Adenosine 也會降低醒覺 引起睡眠 及抑制自發性活動-這些行為都與增加血清素有關 adenosine has been shown to reduce arousal, induce sleep, and suppress spontaneous activity, which are all behaviors associated with increases in 5-HT.

    綜合以上抗 adenosine 結果 caffeine 造成中樞興奮(即拮抗adenosine 的中樞神經抑制性)

    中央細胞表面受器對腺苷酸的抑制作用,

    由腎上腺髓質釋出腎上腺素及正腎上腺素產生中樞神經刺激作用

    小劑量由刺激大腦皮質增進精神和感覺的警覺與降低困倦與疲勞

    大劑量刺激呼吸、血管運動與迷走神經中樞,

    對血管肌肉系統直接作用產生平滑機鬆弛作用(尤其是支氣管)與擴張冠狀的、肺及全身的血管。
