    she was a slave. she ran away to the north, and settled down for a while. she met some Quakers, and helped her sister's family get to the north, by going back south and taking them there. she worked with the Underground Railroad, and made like 20 trips sputh and resuced lots of people. try http://www.wikipedia.org/ for more info. hope this helps! =)
