    The formula is (y1-y2)/(x1-x2)

    9-(-5)/1-1

    which is 14/0 which means it has undefined slope and the only line that has undefined slope is a vertical line

    Slope = Rise over Run

    The difference in the 'rise' (y coordinates) is 9-(-5)=14. The difference in the 'run' (x coordinates) is 0. Since you can't do 14/0 (Zero can never be a denominator) there is no slope.

    undefined slope.
