Naturally. One method is dyeing an egg into red, orange, green or blue, and then scratching the pattern with a sharp knife. Another - "painting" the pattern with wax and then dyeing. Yet another - dyeing the egg and then painting the pattern on it. And for the hopelessly lazy people, a market is selling colored shrinkwrap plastic sleeves, imitating a painted pattern.

My mother-in-law's neighbor does it every year, and I end up with some beauties every time I visit! You should see my collection.
