why is'nt the patriot act being challenged in the Supreme courts by civil suite lawyers, where are our rights?

In the wake of 911,we as citizens of this country have often had to worry wheather or not our rights will be violated today, tommorrow, ect.wheather its the monitoring and eavesdropping on phone conversations,or just simply checking a citizens handbag,or pocketbook. We as citizens of this country shouldn't be subject to acts which violate our social

wellbeing, our movements, and most of all our rights to exorcise

any and all rights of the U.S. constitution. While most politicians

argue the ligitimacy of the war in Iraq, and the violations of human rights to the people of that country;no one has yet to argue the violations of civil rights for the citizens of this country....I'm sure that we can all agree that our elected officials

should be instrumental in being our voice in this matter from the Head of the House down to the Head of City Council, our voices need to be heard;lift every voice and sing.

Because the vast majority of the Patriot Act has nothing to do with what the govt is allowed to do to people. Most of the sections deal with internal reorganization and internal intellgence handling, or with unrelated matters (like setting up a relief fund for families of terrorist victims).

Only a few specific provisions of the Patriot Act allow for intrusion upon individual privacy. One of those sections was challenged, and was ruled unconstitution.

Most of the rest barely fall within constitutional limits, becuase they authorize collection of information from third-parties, such as phone companies or libraries.

And the Supreme Court determined long ago that once a third-party (such as a librarian or phone company employee) has unfettered access to data, that data is no longer considered "private" within the meaning of the 4th Amend. It's already out there, so the govt is allowed to go after it.

But there are plenty of other laws passed by Congress recently, and plenty of other Executive actions by Bush, that have violated constitutional rights. And many of them either have been or are being challenged in court.

It should be challenged within the cut down district courts first, piece through piece, in MULTIPLE circuits, now not simply the "so much liberal/conservative (there may be materials that they do not like, both). Those rulings WILL get appealed, and if matters cross rapid, materials of the act, if now not the entire factor, could be dominated upon through the top courtroom inside five to 7 years. One factor you humans have to take into account: that act used to be handed within the lifeless of night time, and now not one congress individual (from both social gathering) knew the entire main points of what used to be in that swiftly positioned in combination Orwellian act. They had been balloting situated on worry of a different nine/eleven assault. It's has taken over 10 yrs to determine all of it out, and we STILL do not know all that is there. This *IS* Big Brother at it is best, and one of the vital many explanations WHY I desire to get out of this FACSIST NATION!

if i truly believed the popular opinion of terrorist cells operating in the united states and that bin laden was solely behind the 9-11 attacks, i would probably be willing to go along with the drastic measures of the patriot act. as a former police officer/investigator i became highly suspicious after 8 months of watching films of the trade center collapse and the pentagon incident. i love this country and its people. i cant help but feel extreme anger at the thought of the 2000+ lives lost and countless injurys that were sustained on 9-11. it infuriates me that the government will show films of the twin towers and building seven imploding into neat little piles and attempt to purport the fraud on the american public, that this skilled demolition was caused solely from planes crashing into two of the three buildings in question. take a good look at the damage caused to the pentagon. where are the marks from the wings and engines hitting the building ? where is the mass wreckage from the airliner ?...they say it evaporated from the intense heat of the explosion, why is this the first time in history that this occured ? planes crashing full throttle into the sides of mountains and exploding into huge balls of fire, leave piles of twisted wreckage. sorry folks, i have seen too much to swallow any of these theorys. the victims and their families deserve the truth. you and i and the rest of america deserve the truth. please research this topic and see what the experts are saying, before writing me off as a nut case.

Which of your rights are being "violated"? The patriot act deals with the security of this country. I'll spend thirty minutes longer in an airport line to make sure the plane isn't blown out of the sky. Other then that nothing has been done to my rights.

I don't care if they listen to my phone calls, what are they going to hear me talking with a friend about fishing. Tell you what, I worked in Iraq for three years when Sadam was in charge and if you think your rights are being trampled on now your are unaware of what happens in other parts of the world. You could apply for a work visa to Iran or North Korea, spend a year or three there, then see how you feel.

From grammar school to college students are not being taught about their Rights. They are being indoctrinated! It is up to citizens to change it and so far only the ACLU is fighting it...It is up to citizens to know the Bill of Rights and the Constitution for themselves and not just 'Parrot" what they think it is. If you tell a lie long enough people will begin to believe it. Much of it is misquoted and misconstrued!

There are people fighting against it! Problem is, nobody understands freedom, only their party and what their party believes! Conservatives and Liberals can suck my ^%&* They don't care about this country, only about winning at any cost! Socialism and big government are on their way in and both sides of the aisle are guilty! ~ Libertarian!

Unfortunatly in 2004 the majority of Americans voted to keep the patriot act alive. We have noone to blame but the stupid people who voted to give up our rights.
