I have a bill in collections how do I track it down?

I called the last company that has shown up on my credit report and they told me my bill was no longer with them. How do I track it down to clear up this matter?

dispute the bill with the credit breau company as not yours. If the creditor replies then you can see who has it if not it will be removed. good luck
