Can the United States fight the war on terror and bring democracy in the Midlle East ?

Rice acknowledges Iraq troop errors, that the Bush administration likely erred by failing initially to send enough troops to quell the civil strife that followed the overthrow of Saddam Hussein 4 years later and after more than 3,200 deaths of U.S. servicemen and women, Rice said patience still is required and asserted anew that the Iraqis are making headway in completing the transition toward democracy.

Lets stay the course and keep staying the course especially when Rice and many many repubs dont have a truly vested interest in iraq -- family serving in harms way.

Oh and wait...lets stay the course and folow a president who refused to lead by example when he was suppose to serve his duty in vietnam

This entire war on "TERROR" should have been fought in the hills of afganistan...and somehow we were meant to believe (falsely) that IRAQ was the real threat.

This was never about freedom or diplomacy -- this was merely bush adminstrations hidden agenda thats just now being exposed.

    But there will be accountabilty

be it now with all the scadals surfaces, or be it on Judgement Day.

Their will be accountability for these people that sacifice human life to further their own political and financial agendas

P.S. ED --you moron, you really think its all fabricated lies?

You ar as selfish as they want you to be or not smart enough to see the truth

Democracy must be chosen freely by the people who espouse it. It cannot be given to nor forced upon a group of people at gun point. With Democracy comes many responsibilities to maintain it. The instant it becomes too much of a burden the Iraqis will shed themselves of it. It is hubris to believe that the western world can ever really understand a people whose culture is so alien as those of the Middle East. They do not want Democracy. Just because the West enjoys it doesn't mean that it is for everyone. The West has no right to impose its ideology upon the rest of the world any more than anyone has the right to impose ANYTHING on ANYONE at all.

enable's see, our intelligence agencies have been discussing a great deal the certainty that al Qaeda has reconstituted itself in Pakistan and that it rather is much greater in a position than it replace into while it pulled off the terrorist assaults on 9-11-2001. The Taliban have been resurgant in Afghanistan. Afghanistan and Pakistan are the genuine correct fronts of international terrorism, yet we've been distracted from concentrating on the genuine fronts with the help of our militia adventure in Iraq. to boot, the instability that we created in Iraq makes it a possibility that the Iraq will sooner or later be yet another failed state the place terrorists could have risk-free passage. besides, because of the fact of our close association with Gen. Musharaff, those on the instant ascending to ability in Pakistan are adversarial to our requests to be aggressive against al Qaeda in Warzistan. great going Bush administration. the only place the place terrorism seems to be waning somewhat is in south and southeast asia. we've been fortunate that there have not been assaults on our soil yet. yet many in the the remainder of the international can not say the comparable.

The war on terrorism is not about any single country per se. It is a war between two fundamental beliefs and must be fought by the western culture. Must be, anyone not of Islamic faith is a target.!!! Islam states that you infidels are tares in God's garden and must be eradicated.

As for as Democracy in Iraq. No, the USA cannot bring Democracy to Iraq. I cringe each time i hear anyone say, We must bring Democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan." Democracy doesn't work in an Islamic controlled country. If the western culture is to survive, it has to combat this wave of Islamic fundamental terrorism.

    Don't be mad, just fact.

We should start by bringing Democracy to the U.S. first. In the U.S. there is no real choice of elected officials. And the elected officials do not do the will of the people. If they did Bush's war in Iraq would not still be going on. This talk about bringing democracy to the Middle East is just talk.

Democracy is imposable in a country that doesn't want it.

The unfortunate reality is that if we pull out today there will be a full scale civil, AND,,,,, if we pulled out ten years from now there would be a full scale civil war.

NOT IF THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS HAVE THEIR WAY. IT TOOK OVER 10 YEARS AFTER THE SUPPOSED END OF WW2 TO CALM GERMANY, THINGS WILL GET BETTER AND WE WILL SUCCEDE.

I AM ON 2ND TOUR HERE IN IRAQ, AND IT IS A LOT BETTER THAN THE LEFT-WING MEDIA MAKES IT. IT IS WAR AND THERE WILL BE VIOLENCE FOR A WHILE, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE THINK WAR IS EASY!WHETHER MISCALCULATIONS WERE MADE BEFORE DONT MATTER, AS A AMERICAN I COULDNT THINK OF QUITTING. IF WE NEED TO SEND 1 MILLION OVER HERE THEN THATS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN.

THE DEMS. CAN TRY TO SAY THEY DONT WANT DEFEAT, BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE CALLING FOR.

    QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!

If liberals would not have opposed the war so vocally and propogated so many lies, the war would already be over with many lives saved. They would castrate their own mother to gain power.

We're not there to "bring democracy"... we're there for the money that is made off of war... You know the oil and the equipment manufacturers are all in on this and somehow tied to the American government.
