my sisters a nurse, so i say the answer is ; a cast iron stomach and brass balls.
its not a field for the meek & mild...not from what i've seen. gotta be one strong (mental and physical) person for that stuff.

So far as the academics is concerned, there are a large number of nursing courses that you can opt for starting from the basic certificates to diplomas, degrees and even PhD programmes. Search the Internet and you’ll get all details like admission criteria, course content and areas of specialisation you can opt for and job opportunities later. However, you’ll only succeed if you have a definite knack and interest in nursing. I finally was admitted to a program myself. The thing that helped me was a strong set of scores in the sciences, and the ability to be interested instead of repelled by the functions of the human body. You might find some insight by looking into the HESI tests. These are used by many nursing schools as an indicator of success with the required courses in nursing.
