TBI should get better gas mileage, you might think of getting a good tune-up. The mileage also depends on the weight of the vehicle, the gears in the rear end, and the transmission you have. also pay attention to the tires on the vehicle, it takes more power to turn bigger tires, but if they are too small, the engine has to turn more RPM's which drinks the gas. If the vehicle is 4x4 that sort of mileage is somewhat normal, but if 2x4 I'd check the rear end gears, pay attention to how you drive. air filters, fuel filters, spark plugs, clean the fuel injection system w/ fuel injector cleaner. If you are looking for fuel mileage out of a vehicle, that is not the right vehicle for you. Also pay look at the miles on the vehicle, is the engine getting pretty tired, you might think of a rebuild. good luck.

Tbi is better than a carb, you must need a good tune-up only getting that kind of mileage.
