How did the Massachusetts Constitution influence the writing of the United States Constitution?

How did the Massachusetts Constitution meld the two basic American constitutional principles that (a) all power is derived from the people and (b) the difference between fundamental law in a constitution versus statutory law in a legislative bill?

I am writing a paper for Constitutional History/Law course.
