How did you react when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series in 2004?

I was in disbelief when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series in 2007 and I was saying to myself "John Kerry's Team just won the World Series, John Kerry's Team just won the World Series" because at that time, Massachusetts Senator and Presidential Candidate John Kerry was from Boston and he is a Boston Red Sox Fan.

As a baseball fan in general it was great to see a team with such die hard loyal dedicated fans relish the joy of winning a world series. Good for them.

I can say it loud: I CRIED, I'm from Dom Rep, and have been I think the biggest Red Sox Nation fan from this territories, and you wouldn't know the emotion we here felt when we won, specially for seeing Big Papi (David Ortiz), Manny Ramírez and Pedro Martínez to manage and carry the team in their shoulders, of course with the great work also of: Jason Varitek, Curt Schilling, Trot Nixon, etc.

When we first were losing by the Yankees in the ALCS, I didn't loose hope (that's the last thing you loose as an old state says), but when we started winning, and with the clutch hitting of Ortiz and Jhonny Damon's HR, it was scary, thw real World Series was that ALCS, maybe the best series ever played in the history of baseball.

I respect a lot the Yankees organization, as a matter of fact the best team ever in any discipline. But I bet anyone, that any fan from any team of any sport hasn't ever enjoyed so much as we Red sox fans did it that 2004.

The ALCS was probably the best baseball championship series I've ever watched and will probably be the greatest one I probably will ever see for a long time. The World Series of 2004 was nothing compared to what the Boston Red Sox did to the NY Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series. I'm grateful to even be alive to see that happen. History. The 2004 ALCS was probably the greatest sports story EVER. I mean, that's my opinion. After 86 years of losing year after year and having to watch their rivals the NY Yankees win 26 World Championships while they won ZERO, the Boston Red Sox got their sweet revenge by coming back from a 0-3 deficit to beat the NY Yankees 4-3 in a best of 7 series. I think winning the World Series pretty much was the icing on the cake after the series against the Yankees. I love baseball.

Yeah. John Kerry is about a great fan of the Red Sox as he would have made a good President. NOT. As a senator he was famous for doing NOTHING. As President, he would have been a disaster, as a fan of the Red Sox, he stays in hiding until they win. I was joyful when they won in 2004, but not because of John Kerry, that's for sure!!

    Chow!!

I happened to have just moved from New England (born and raised in Boston) down here to Kentucky. I'm about 4 hours away from St. Louis, where my Sis lives. So, I went out there for the Series as her husband and their friends are all die-hard Cardinals fans.

I watched the first 3 games there, keeping it humble in a house full of Cardinal rooters. Alas, I knew I had to return to Kentucky to watch the Sox clinch with my Dad. Lo-and-behold it happened that night!

You see, I've been a fan for over 30 years. My Dad a fan since 1937 (he actually attended Teddy Ballgame's first game at Fenway). Well, we didn't jump up and down, hoot and holler, my Dad just gave me a hug and shook my hand saying, "We finally did it!! Finally!!"

That was one of the happiest days of my life. Not because they won, but because my Dad saw them win it. And I was there with him.

I was very happy for all of the Red Sox nation. I am a long time Angels fan, and I was lucky enough to see my team win it all in 2002, and a good friend of mine is a Sox fan. I told him we won it, now it was his turn. I was especially glad since they came back from the dead to beat the hated Yankees. (We beat the Yankees on our run to the Chamionship!)

I cried like a baby. I could not believe that my team (the Yankees, born and raised a Yankees fan) lost to them, to make that worse the stupid soxs from fartsville won the world series (Boston is know as bean town and beans make people fart just in case no one got that). I threw my stuffed baseball at the tv, screamed at my parents cause it was there fault they won the championship, then I threw the remote across the room and almost broke it, then I cried for a few days. I came close to ripping up all my Yankee stuff and asking George to give me my money back cause his crappy Yankees let the Soxs get there. But I did not and I am glad I didn't cause I would still be crying cause all my Yankee stuff would be gone.

I was on the phone with my then-boyfriend and had to be all solemn and sympathetic because he was a die-hard Yank fan.

Of course being a Mets fan myself, as soon as I got off the phone, I laughed for a good half hour! (2000 Subway Series Revenge is SWEET!)

Im a Rangers fan so each year I have to pick a team to cheer for in the Playoffs and I was hoping the Red Sox would win cuz I didn't like A-Rod, but all I did was a little fist pump when they won and went to bed. Im saving the celebration for when the Rangers win a World Series.
