It's like a giant garage sale where people buy/sell/trade stuff. Some meets are for specific things, like hot rods or hot rod parts, some have absolutely anything you can imagine like the Mile High Flea Market.

On mostly the west coast...it's a place where wholesale vendors sell everything from jewelry to CD's, stereo equipment, even rims, and clothes...when I was living in Newport News a.k.a. Bad News, Allen Iverson's hometown...a few years ago...there was a swap meet there ...housed in a former convention center...it was cool..there are a few swap meets in the South and Midwest.
