can you become a nurse if you have herpes?

It will not stop you from being a nurse but it could be somewhat limiting as to certain areas of the hospital that you would not be able to work in. I believe that they would be concerned that you do not work in the newborn nursery....or in areas where patients immunity is low....like cancer or HIV treatment areas. It depends. Patients that would specifically be at risk are usually protected.

Yes, of course. Can you imagine applying for nursing school and having to answer a question about whether or not you have herpes (or any other disease)? That would indeed be discrimination.

YES, YOU CAN APPLY TO BECOME A NURSE. BEING A CARRIER OF THE HERPES VIRUS WILL IN NO WAY AFFECT YOUR TREATING OF PATIENTS, AND NURSING SCHOOL WON'T EVEN ASK YOU IF YOU WOULD HAVE IT.
