ok this boy i have a crush on has a girlfriend and i just found out and when i found out it was the day that i told him that i liked him and i wasnt mad b/c he said he was taken. i was actually happy b/c we got a chance to talk 2 him.

As long as you now leave him alone, then no it wasn't wrong. You didn't know about the girlfriend when you told him you like him.
