I am about to go skiing for the first time. Any Advice?

I am going on saturday. I know how to ice skate well, i play hockey. How do you ski?????? Is it hard? What should I wear?

Skating skills will transfer well into skiing, but your feet will feel very heavy. Ski boots feel very similar to ice skates, but with no ankle wobble. Wear something that will keep out the wind. Practice getting up from laying on your side after you first put on the skis. That's completely different from skating, and can be confusing.
