Why wasn't Paris Hilton arrested for driving on a suspended license?

Is this a celebrity getting out of jail for free or is it not the law in California to arrest someone for driving on a suspended license?

they are drawing charges against her at this moment, and at her hearing she is facing 90 days in jail. Everyone who is caught on driving with suspended license isn't always taken to jail because sometimes a lot of people don't know their licenses are suspended, but they have a court date and the judge determines what their penalty will be. It all depends on the officers, city, county, etc. I wouldn't say she is getting a "get of jail" free card, but they are giving her the benefit of the doubt like other citizens. It happened to my ex boyfriend before that is why I know everyone isn't always arrested on the spot....

It's a sad fact of life that most people do not realize. Race, gender, etc. make little difference in one's ability to escape punishment. Money truly does. Take a look at that weirdo Michael Jackson darnit! Point made!

But if Paris was a skank as opposed to a rich ***-skank, you bet your license that she would be in jail right now.

It's not like she can't make bail. And she can't flee the country because of the paparazzi.

She will have to go to court now and may spend up to 3 months in jail.

It's called celebrity justice. Don't ask me how Paris became a celebrity, but she fits into the category somehow.

    As usual, in Hollywood...

    Celebrity + Wealth = Exculpation

She was arrested and she is now in trouble for parole violation and could go to jail.

I heard that 90 minutes after they brought her to the police station, they were forced to release her due to too much publicity and media congesting traffic and causing too much of a stir.

ok, she have been given probation for a dui, her license became into suspended. she then drove with a susupendded license, the law enforcement officers permit her pass, she then drove returned with a suspended liscense. she drove two times with a susupended liscense and became into on probation for a dui, so she became into arressted for violating probation.

She didn't go to jail, but she got a ticket.

And they took her Bentley and impounded it. That's almost better than her going to jail.
